My name is Namrata Yadav, and I’m running for Charlotte City Council to give back to the city that welcomed and uplifted me. Charlotte is the place I fell in love with—it gave me opportunity, belonging, and community. But today, I see a city that isn’t working for everyone.

Over the past decade, Charlotte has experienced incredible growth, but the benefits of that growth have not reached every neighborhood or family. We need thoughtful, pragmatic leadership to ensure that progress benefits all of us—our neighbors, our families, and our businesses, large and small. Because a growing city must care for ALL its residents and ALL its businesses that fuel its future.

As a mother with a young family, I want to help build a Charlotte where my children, and all of our children, can thrive. That means strong communities, smart investment, and inclusive growth that opens doors for everyone. It’s time for authentic, community-first leadership that challenges the status quo and puts Charlotte families and Charlotte’s future at the center of every policy and program.
